Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran has been announced as part of the Worcester Red Sox’s second-ever Hall of Fame class, alongside ballpark design advisor Janet Marie Smith and executive/broadcaster JP Ricciardi. Duran, a star in Boston, is known for his athleticism and impressive stats, including leading the league in doubles and triples in 2024. Before his MLB debut, Duran was a key player for the WooSox, being the first to bat for the team after its move to Worcester. Smith, an executive for the Dodgers, played a vital role in designing Worcester’s Polar Park, while Ricciardi, a Worcester native and former MLB executive, now serves as a color commentator for WooSox broadcasts. The WooSox Hall of Fame already includes notable figures like Larry Lucchino and Rich Gedman.
