Indian-Origin CEO Arrested in Prostitution Sting
Anurag Bajpayee, the Indian-origin CEO and co-founder of water technology firm Gradiant, based in Boston, was recently arrested in connection with a prostitution sting involving high-end brothels. Bajpayee faces misdemeanor charges for allegedly paying hundreds of dollars per hour for sex work, including a “girlfriend experience” with women believed to be victims of sex trafficking.
Court documents revealed that Bajpayee and others were part of an illicit network operating in the Boston area, resulting in multiple arrests. The CEO, who holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from MIT, co-founded Gradiant in 2013. His academic work on desalination was recognized by Scientific American in their ‘Top 10 World-Changing Ideas’ list.
Gradiant released a statement defending Bajpayee, expressing trust in the judicial process and reiterating their commitment to their mission of providing clean water solutions. The company emphasized their focus on technological innovation and ensuring access to clean water for all.
