Charges Filed Against Suspects Linked to Young Park Shooting in Las Cruces


Las Cruces Police have identified three victims who died in a mass shooting at Young Park. The shooting, which resulted from an altercation between two groups, left Andrew Madrid (16), Jason Gomez (18), and Dominick Estrada (19) dead. Fifteen additional victims, aged 16 to 36, sustained injuries in the crossfire. Two suspects, Tomas Rivas (20) and a 17-year-old boy, have been arrested in connection with the shooting and face three counts of open murder, with additional charges pending as the investigation continues. Rivas is being held without bond at the Doña Ana County Detention Center, while the juvenile will be remanded to a juvenile detention facility. D.A. Madrid, Gomez, and Estrada were identified as the deceased victims, with Madrid being a sophomore on the Centennial High School baseball team.
