Legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses has announced the departure of drummer Frank Ferrer after 19 years with the group. In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the band thanked Ferrer for his contributions and wished him success in his future musical endeavors. Ferrer joined the band in 2006 and was the longest-serving drummer in their history, appearing on their most recent album “Chinese Democracy” and playing with the reunion lineup featuring Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan.
With an upcoming world tour set to begin in May, Guns N’ Roses will need to find a replacement for Ferrer soon. Loudwire has suggested seven potential drummers, including former GNR members Steven Adler and Matt Sorum, as well as others with connections to the band’s members through side projects.
Guns N’ Roses is one of the best-selling rock bands of all time, known for iconic hits like “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “November Rain,” “Paradise City,” and “Welcome to the Jungle.” The band, alongside Rose, Slash, McKagan, Adler, Sorum, Stradlin, and Reed, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. The group’s upcoming tour will kick off with concerts in South Korea, the Middle East, and Europe, showcasing their timeless rock anthems to fans around the world.
