Tapestry Health, a critical community resource in Springfield, MA, is facing a challenge as they must find a new location for their Mason WIC Office after renting from Baystate Health for 20 years. The lease at the current location will end on June 30, and Tapestry CEO Mavis Nimoh is urgently searching for a suitable space that meets the specific requirements of the Women Infants and Children nutrition program. This includes a location with private, soundproof offices, a lactation room, accessibility to low-income families, and proximity to the Mason Square or Pine Point neighborhoods.
State Representative Bud L. Williams recognizes the importance of Tapestry and WIC’s work and is working to help find a new location for the vital services they provide. Tapestry serves around 3,000 clients at the Mason Square office, offering essential services like fresh fruits and vegetables, sexual and reproductive health care, and harm reduction programs.
Although Tapestry is facing the challenge of finding a new location, they remain committed to serving the community with the necessary support from local leaders like Rep. Williams.
