The No. 16/14 UMass hockey team battled to a 2-2 tie against No. 5/4 Maine on Saturday, with the Black Bears ultimately winning in a shootout. Sophomore Dans Locmelis and freshman Larry Keenan each scored for the Minutemen, while Maine tied the game in the third period with goals from Lucke Antonacci and Nicholas Niemo. Despite a shootout loss, UMass outshot Maine 42-23 and now looks ahead to the Hockey East Tournament. They will face off against No. 11 seed Vermont on Wednesday, March 12 at the Mullins Center.
