UMass men’s ice hockey ties with Maine, ranked No. 5/4


The No. 16/14 UMass hockey team battled to a 2-2 tie against No. 5/4 Maine on Saturday, with the Black Bears ultimately winning in a shootout. UMass head coach Greg Carvel praised his team’s performance against a top-five opponent, highlighting their effort and the talent of Maine’s goalie. Sophomore Dans Locmelis and freshman Larry Keenan each scored for the Minutemen, while Maine tied the game in the third period with goals from Lucke Antonacci and Nicholas Niemo.
