Lorne Michaels, the creator of “Saturday Night Live,” is reportedly very interested in the legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, according to former SNL cast member Dana Carvey. In a recent podcast episode with David Spade, Carvey shared that Michaels has been texting him about the feud between the two celebrities. The drama began when Ryan Reynolds made a joke about the dispute during the SNL 50th anniversary special. Carvey revealed that Michaels was more interested in discussing Lively and Reynolds’ legal battle than the actual show.
Although Carvey tried to change the subject to praise other aspects of the anniversary special, Michaels continued to focus on Lively and Baldoni’s feud. The podcast hosts also discussed comments made by an SNL cue card guy about Reynolds’ joke during the show. Carvey extended an invitation to Baldoni to appear on the podcast and tell his side of the story.
The legal battle between Lively and Baldoni started last year when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and a smear campaign against her. Baldoni denied the accusations and countersued Lively and Reynolds for defamation and extortion. Lively recently filed an amended complaint adding new claims against Baldoni. Baldoni’s attorney has denied Lively’s accusations, calling them unsubstantial hearsay. Michaels has reportedly been following the legal drama closely and engaging in conversations about it with former colleagues.
