Megan Olbrys shines as UMass women’s basketball secures 15th victory


The University of Massachusetts women’s basketball team secured a dominant 87-62 victory against Loyola Chicago, with Megan Olbrys leading the charge with a career-high 23 points and 13 rebounds. Stefanie Kulesza added 19 points and Yahmani McKayle contributed 15 points and tied her career-high with eight assists. The Minutewomen had their highest-scoring game of the season, with ten players contributing to the scoreboard. They shot an impressive 51% from the field and forced 19 turnovers from Loyola. Massachusetts maintained control throughout the game, closing out the third quarter with a 19-point lead and sealing the victory with an 11-2 scoring run in the final quarter. The win marked the team’s 15th victory and 10th conference win of the season. The Minutewomen will look to continue their success as they face Rhode Island on February 19 for Senior Day.
