The Boston Athletic Association has unveiled the new medal design for the 2025 Boston Marathon, incorporating feedback from runners who criticized last year’s design. The medal for the 129th Boston Marathon features a different shape with the Bank of America branding less prominently displayed. The 2024 medal had the bank’s name stamped in color on the bottom edge, which received negative feedback. This year’s medal still includes the bank’s logo but features improvements, such as the absence of the company’s name on the front of the award. Runners and users on social media have praised the changes, calling the new design a “huge improvement” over last year’s. Additionally, the back of the medal references the race marking the 250th anniversary of Patriots’ Day. The adjustments to the medal design reflect the organizers’ commitment to listening to feedback from participants and continuously improving the iconic race experience for all runners.
