An Airman First Class Nicholas Sweetser, a 30-year-old member of the United States Air Force from Eastham, is facing charges of rape and photographing an unsuspecting nude person. The charges were brought against him following an investigation by State Police, prompted by a report from the Air Force alleging multiple incidents of sexual assault by Sweetser. He was arrested on February 13 and held without bail based on a motion filed by the District Attorney’s office, citing him as a danger to the community. The DA’s office is encouraging anyone with information about Sweetser to come forward. Sweetser appeared in Orleans District Court for a hearing on the charges and is currently being held pending the completion of the hearing on February 21. The case has garnered attention and raised concerns about the safety of the community in the wake of these serious allegations.
