A 37-year-old woman from Memphis, Tennessee has been banned from all Walmart stores after being arrested for shoplifting for the second time. The woman was charged with criminal trespass and theft of merchandise worth less than $1,000 after she and another person attempted to steal 11 packs of Ramen Noodles and other items from a South Memphis Walmart. The duo allegedly used the self-checkout to try and take the goods on February 10th at around 3:44 p.m.
According to police reports, the woman is considered a “known shoplifter” at the store. After her arrest, she was banned from all Walmart locations. The incident has sparked a debate on the issue of shoplifting and the consequences that come with it. This serves as a reminder to be cautious and follow the law while shopping to avoid such legal trouble.
