Alex Bregman, a highly acclaimed infielder, has officially signed a three-year, $120 million contract with the Boston Red Sox. The team announced the signing on Saturday, solidifying their infield with one of the most proven players in the game. Bregman, who spent nine seasons with the Houston Astros, boasts impressive statistics including a .272 batting average, 165 hits, 28 home runs, and 97 RBI per 162 games. He is a two-time All-Star, Silver Slugger, and Gold Glove winner.
Bregman’s performance at Fenway Park has been exceptional, hitting .375 with a 1.240 OPS in 21 career games. His addition to the Red Sox lineup is expected to bring even more success to the team, as he has a track record of postseason appearances and two World Series championships.
To accommodate Bregman on the roster, left-hander Patrick Sandoval was placed on the 60-day injured list. Bregman will be the 44th player in Red Sox history to wear No. 2, a number with a rich history for the franchise.
