Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is making waves at the University of North Carolina, adding familiar names to his coaching staff and roster. The latest addition is LeGarrette Blount Jr., a 2028 prospect who plays both defensive back and wide receiver at Hamilton High School in Arizona. Blount Jr., whose father played for the Patriots, announced on social media that he has received an offer from UNC.
Belichick has already brought in former Patriots players and staff members, including his sons Steve and Brian, as well as Michael Lombardi and Jamie Collins. LeGarrette Blount Sr. was a key player for the Patriots during their dynasty, running for nearly 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns in his time with the team. Blount Sr. expressed pride and excitement for his son’s offer from UNC.
With Belichick’s connections and experience, UNC football is poised to see continued success with talented recruits like Blount Jr. joining the program. The legacy of the Patriots dynasty appears to be carrying on in Chapel Hill.
