LeGarrette Blount Jr., son of former Patriots standout running back LeGarrette Blount Sr., has received a D1 offer from North Carolina to play football. The class of 2028 prospect currently plays defensive back and wide receiver at Hamilton High School in Arizona. His father, who played for the Patriots under coach Bill Belichick, expressed pride and excitement for his son’s accomplishment on social media.
Blount Sr. was known for his bruising running style and success in the postseason, winning three Super Bowl rings with the Patriots and Eagles. He ran for 2,917 yards and scored 35 touchdowns during his time in New England, including a career-best season in 2016 with 1,161 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. Blount Jr. appears to be following in his father’s footsteps with his talent and work ethic on the field.
If Blount Jr. chooses to attend North Carolina, he could potentially play under Belichick, who is currently serving as the head coach after a successful career in the NFL. Fans and recruiters alike are excited to see what the future holds for this promising young athlete.
