NBC New York Shares Results of USA Today’s Ad Meter

The Philadelphia Eagles were not the only winners of the Super Bowl, as USA Today’s 37th annual Ad Meter recently ranked the best commercials from the big game. The Ad Meter, created in 1989 to gauge consumers’ opinions about television’s most expensive commercials, has become an industry-leading tool to measure public opinion surrounding Super Bowl ads.

This year’s top-rated commercial in the Ad Meter was Budweiser’s “First Delivery,” which showcased a Clydesdale foal proving his ability to make a keg delivery on his own. This marked Budweiser’s ninth time topping the list, solidifying the company as the undisputed king of the Ad Meter.

In second place was Lay’s “The Little Farmer,” featuring a determined girl growing a potato, and third place went to Michelob Ultra’s “The Ultra Hustle,” an entertaining ad starring Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara dominating athletes in pickleball.

Among the TODAY show team’s favorite commercials were Uber Eats’ “A Century of Cravings,” He Gets Us’ “What is Greatness,” and Mountain Dew’s “Kiss from a Lime.” These ads stood out for their star-studded cast, powerful storytelling without voiceovers, and attention-grabbing features like a singing seal.

Overall, the Super Bowl commercials this year were praised for their celebrity appearances, great stories, and unique concepts that resonated with audiences. The Ad Meter continues to be a crucial tool for measuring the success of these high-priced advertisements during one of the most-watched television events of the year.
