Berkshire Botanical Garden in Stockbridge is offering a tree care course led by Tom Ingersoll of Ingersoll Land Care, aimed at empowering horticultural enthusiasts to better understand large plants in the landscape. The program will cover tree biology, identification, ecosystem roles, planting considerations, pruning, fertilization, and pest management from Feb. 14 to 28. Those interested can register on the garden’s website.

The Springfield Garden Club will host a series of gardening workshops on year-round garden color at the Old Monkey House in Forest Park. The sessions, led by experts in the field, will cover topics such as planting small trees for all-season enjoyment and designing landscapes for year-round beauty. Tickets are $10 per class, available at the door or online.

Furthermore, the Wilbraham Garden Club is accepting applications for two $1000 scholarships for graduating seniors from Wilbraham or Hampden planning to pursue studies in fields related to horticulture and environmental sciences. The East Longmeadow Garden Club also offers a $1000 scholarship for students pursuing degrees in agriculture, botany, conservation, or related fields. Agawam Garden Club is also offering a $1000 scholarship for students majoring in environmental studies. Applications for these scholarships can be found on the respective club’s websites.
