The Cannabis Control Commission has issued a warning to marijuana consumers to avoid the product known as Slap N Tickle. The Commission found that some marijuana products sold in the past year were potentially contaminated with yeast, mold, and coliforms above acceptable limits. The affected products were sold between May 31 and January 30 by various dispensaries across Massachusetts.
The Commission has taken steps to prevent further sales of the contaminated products through a regulatory cannabis system called Metrc. While the products initially passed testing, additional compliance testing ordered by the Commission revealed the contaminants. However, there have been no reports of illness associated with the potentially moldy cannabis.
Consumers who have purchased any of the affected products are advised to dispose of them at home or return them to the store where they were purchased for proper disposal. The CCC has provided a full list of the potentially contaminated products and the locations where they were sold on their website. They are also urging consumers to contact the marijuana establishment or medical marijuana treatment center where the products were purchased for more information.
Overall, the Commission is taking proactive measures to protect consumers from potentially harmful products and is closely monitoring the situation. In the meantime, they are working with dispensaries to ensure that all marijuana products meet safety standards and regulations.
