Meanwhile, Dalton Kinnon scored 48 points to tie a record for Mystic Valley in an 84-46 win over Northeast. Phil Botelho and Jake Webster propelled Bishop Feehan to a 69-52 win against Walpole with 23 and 15 points, respectively.
In girls’ basketball action, Bella Sulfaro and Sarah Michel contributed to Blue Hills’ 35-30 win over Westport. Norah O’Brien led Cardinal Spellman to a 58-22 win over Cristo Rey with 10 points and 8 steals. Jaylene Pires scored 22 points as Dennis-Yarmouth secured their first Cape and Islands League championship in over 20 years with a win over Barnstable.
In boys’ hockey, Chris Casseso surpassed 100 career points with two goals in Somerville’s 6-2 win over Lynn. Annett August scored the game-winner in overtime for Barnstable against Martha’s Vineyard. Kelsey MacPherson netted four goals for Hopkinton/Dover-Sherborn in a 4-0 win over West/East Bridgewater.
On the baseball front, Jeff Sylvia was announced as the new head coach of Middleboro after coaching stints at Taunton, New Bedford, and Bridgewater-Raynham.
