A Learjet 55 crashed in a Philadelphia neighborhood on Friday evening, resulting in the deaths of all six individuals on board. The passengers were confirmed to be Mexican citizens, including a child who had just completed life-saving medical treatment, along with her mother and four crew members. Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum, expressed her condolences and stated that consular authorities are assisting the families of the victims.
The medical transport jet, operated by Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, had been en route to Tijuana after making a stop in Missouri. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and there is no confirmation of any survivors. Several individuals on the ground were treated for injuries at a hospital.
Jet Rescue spokesperson Shai Gold described the crew as experienced and well-trained, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining safety standards. Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro expressed his condolences for the victims and their families, acknowledging the tragic loss in the aviation disaster. The investigation into the crash continues as authorities work to determine the cause of the tragedy.
