Following President Donald Trump’s return to the presidency this week, he has been spreading false and misleading information to support his agenda. Trump falsely claimed a significant victory margin in the 2024 election, misrepresented the support he received from young voters, and incorrectly addressed California’s water policies around wildfires. Additionally, Trump downplayed the severity of the Jan. 6 attacks on police during the Capitol riots and inflated immigration numbers when discussing illegal entries into the U.S.
Despite these claims, the facts tell a different story. Trump did not win the popular vote by millions of votes and did not receive the level of youth support he claimed. California’s water supply is not the cause of the recent wildfire issues in Los Angeles, and the Jan. 6 attacks on police were more violent and harmful than Trump suggested.
FEMA has not ended temporary housing assistance for Hurricane Helene survivors, contrary to Trump’s statements. The agency is still providing support to those in need.
