Arkansas triumphs over Boston College women’s basketball


The Boston College women’s basketball team suffered a 75-64 loss to Arkansas, dropping their record to 6-4 on the season. Despite the loss, Teya Sidberry led the team with 17 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Dontavia Waggoner also reached the 1,000-point milestone for her career, contributing 15 points in the game. Andrea Daley added 13 points and seven rebounds.

Boston College started strong with a first-quarter lead, fueled by three-pointers from T’yana Todd. However, Arkansas managed to take the lead in the second quarter and kept the game close. BC regained the lead in the third quarter but couldn’t hold on, as the Razorbacks pulled away in the final period.

Despite the loss, BC showed resilience with 24 offensive rebounds, the most since the 2018-19 season. The Eagles will look to bounce back in their ACC opener against Virginia on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Charlottesville.

Arkansas improved to 5-5 on the season and capitalized on their shooting efficiency, outscoring BC by 14 points in the final period. The Razorbacks also had a strong performance at the free-throw line, outscoring BC by 19 points in that category. Overall, Arkansas shot 48 percent from the field, securing the win over the Eagles.
