The Worcester Railers HC suffered a 6-2 defeat at the hands of the Wichita Thunder on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 4,009 at the INTRUST Bank Arena. The Railers are set to play the Adirondack Thunder next on December 4 at the Cool Insuring Arena.
Wichita took an early lead with goals from Jeremie Bucheler and Joe Carroll in the first period, with Worcester’s Colin Jacobs scoring in response. Wichita extended their lead with goals from Nolan Kneen and Nolan Burke, before Anthony Repaci scored a power play goal for Worcester in the second period. In the third period, Wichita sealed the win with goals from Michal Stinil and Braden Hache.
Despite the Railers outshooting the Thunder throughout the game, they were unable to secure the win. Trevor Gorsuch made 48 saves for Wichita, while John Muse made 26 saves for Worcester. Anthony Repaci led Worcester in shots and tied a record for goals scored in Worcester Professional Hockey history. The Railers now hold a 2-1-0-0 record against the Thunder.
