The Toy for Joy Christmas campaign, now in its 102nd year, is once again calling on citizens, businesses, and organizations to support families and children in need in Western Massachusetts. The campaign, sponsored by the Salvation Army and promoted by The Republican, Reminder Publishing, MassLive, and El Pueblo Latino, aims to raise $150,000 to provide age-appropriate toys, games, and books to children who might otherwise go without during the holiday season.
As donations top $15,000 before Thanksgiving, organizers are grateful for the early contributions but stress the importance of continued support as the campaign runs until Christmas Eve. Donations can be made online or by mail, and all contributions will be recognized and published in various media outlets.
With distribution taking place in Springfield, Holyoke, and Greenfield, recipients must register in advance to receive their gifts. Each child will receive age-appropriate toys, games, and books, and pickup details will be shared via email confirmation. For more information, donors and recipients can visit the Salvation Army’s official website or call (413) 733-1518.
