Democratic lawmakers targeted with bomb threats on Thanksgiving Day

Multiple House Democrats from Connecticut, including the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, were targets of bomb threats at their homes on Thanksgiving Day. However, all members and their families are safe, and no bombs were found. The threats came a day after several Cabinet nominees of President-elect Donald Trump received similar bomb threats. Representative Jim Himes stated that there was no evidence of a bomb after a quick response. He emphasized that there is no place for political violence in the country and called for civility during the holiday season. Representative Jahana Hayes also received a bomb threat through email, but no bomb or explosive materials were found. She emphasized spending Thanksgiving with loved ones and wished everyone a safe and happy holiday. Representative Joe Courtney also received a bomb threat, but no bomb was found. A spokesperson for Courtney expressed gratitude towards law enforcement for their rapid response. These incidents highlight the need to address political violence and ensure the safety of elected officials.
