Arrest Made in 36-Year-Old Cold Case Murder of Massachusetts Woman After DNA Evidence Links Suspect to Spit on Sidewalk

A 65-year-old man from Massachusetts has been arrested for a cold-case murder dating back to 1988, thanks to DNA evidence obtained from his saliva. James Holloman was charged with the murder of Karen Taylor after his DNA was linked to evidence found at the crime scene. Taylor was found dead in her Roxbury home with multiple stab wounds. Holloman’s DNA matched scrapings from underneath Taylor’s fingernails, a bloody sweatshirt at the scene, and a cigarette.
Holloman was formally charged with first-degree murder in Suffolk Superior Court and has been denied bail. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the case to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit or CrimeStoppers Tip Line. The investigation is ongoing, and the Boston Police Department is seeking more information from the community.
The arrest highlights the importance of DNA evidence in solving cold cases and bringing justice to victims and their families.
