“Aftermath,” a thrilling action film available on VOD Nov. 1, pays tribute to Boston’s Tobin Bridge as it is threatened by a terrorist plot. The film follows ex-Army Ranger Eric Daniels as he must stop the deranged terrorist from blowing up the bridge. However, both the hero and villain never actually set foot on the Tobin Bridge due to logistical challenges, with the entire bridge being rebuilt in an airplane hangar for filming.
Lead actors Dylan Sprouse and Mason Gooding, who play the protagonist and antagonist respectively, discuss their characters’ motivations and the complex dynamics at play in the film. Gooding’s character, Romeo, believes he is seeking justice for himself and his fellow soldiers, despite his violent and harmful actions.
The film also explores themes of PTSD, as Eric grapples with trauma-induced flashbacks to his time in Iraq. Despite the intense subject matter, Sprouse and Gooding emphasize the fun they had filming intense action sequences and fight scenes.
Both actors bonded over their love for video games and martial arts, making the experience of filming an action movie even more enjoyable. “Aftermath” promises to be an exciting and action-packed ride for viewers when it is released on VOD on Nov. 1.
