Massachusetts Approaches 1.3 Million Early Votes Cast for Presidential Election

With just days left until Election Day on Nov. 5, more than 1.29 million Massachusetts voters have already cast their ballots early, representing a turnout of 25.7% of the state’s total registered voters. In addition to the presidential and U.S. Senate campaigns, voters will also be deciding on five statewide ballot questions that cover topics like education, restaurant wages, psychedelic drugs, government transparency, and transportation worker unionization.

For those who have not yet voted, early in-person voting is available in Massachusetts through Nov. 1, with schedules set by local election officials. Mail-in ballots can be requested until Oct. 29, and can be hand-delivered to a local election office, dropped off at an early voting location, or placed in a ballot drop box. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Nov. 5, but can be accepted for three extra days. Voters can also track the status of their ballots using a tracking tool provided by Massachusetts.

The deadline to register to vote in Massachusetts is Saturday, 10 days before the election. In-person voter registration will be available until 5 p.m. in all cities and towns. Massachusetts residents are encouraged to take advantage of these voting options to ensure their voices are heard in this important election.
