Westfield STEM Week offers engaging demonstrations and career talks for pre-K to teens

STEM Week in Westfield public schools was a hands-on learning experience for students of all ages, from preschool to high school. From October 21st to 25th, kindergarten to fifth-grade teachers led Project Lead the Way modules on topics such as energy, structure and function, forces and interactions, and matter.

The interactive modules allowed students to engage with STEM concepts in a tangible way, encouraging a deeper understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math. Activities ranged from building structures to exploring the properties of matter, giving students a well-rounded STEM education.

By incorporating STEM activities into their curriculum, teachers were able to provide students with real-world applications of the topics they were learning. This approach not only made learning more engaging and relevant for students, but also helped them develop critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.

Overall, STEM Week was a success in Westfield public schools, with students actively participating in hands-on learning experiences that will undoubtedly benefit them in their future academic and professional endeavors. The school district’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education that includes STEM education is evident in the success of STEM Week and its positive impact on students.
