Jon Stewart has signed on to continue hosting “The Daily Show” on Mondays through the end of next year. Paramount announced the news, stating that Stewart will continue to deliver his sharp, satirical takes on politics and current events as he has been doing since his return in 2024.
Stewart, who originally was supposed to host through the November election, will now be hosting the show weekly. Despite joking that he wanted to host every other Monday, he expressed his excitement to continue working with the team at The Daily Show and Comedy Central.
Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global, praised Stewart’s ability to provide clear-eyed insights and stated that they are thrilled to have him leading The Daily Show for another year. Since Stewart’s return, the show has seen its highest ratings since 2018, according to Variety.
Stewart will also remain an executive producer on the show, which features a revolving series of hosts for the other days of the week. “The Daily Show” airs on Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m. Eastern on Comedy Central and streams the next day on Paramount+.
Fans can look forward to more of Stewart’s signature humor and satirical commentary on American politics and the country’s current events as he continues to helm the show on a weekly basis.
