U.S. vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently commented on the rumored Graeter’s Skyline Chili Ice Cream flavor, which caused concern among Cincinnati residents. The flavor, described as a daring fusion of chili spices, oyster crackers, and cheese swirled into ice cream, was said to be a collaboration between Graeter’s and Skyline Chili. However, it was clarified that the flavor was only concept art and not currently in production.
Skyline Chili is a popular restaurant chain known for its local chili dish that originated in Cincinnati in 1949. Graeter’s Ice Cream is a regional ice cream chain founded in 1870 that has over 50 retail locations and is distributed in thousands of grocery stores nationwide. The chain has created unique flavors in the past, such as their Kentucky Derby-inspired brown butter bourbon pecan flavor.
Vance, who has personal connections to Cincinnati, voiced his opposition to the unusual ice cream flavor, stating that “President Trump and I will stop this.” However, it was confirmed that the flavor is not currently available and that both companies are working on a different collaboration involving their spice blend and ice cream. While the Graeter’s Skyline Chili Ice Cream flavor may not be real at the moment, the collaboration between the two beloved Cincinnati chains is still in the research and development phase.
