Ukrainian military recruitment officers have conducted raids in the capital city of Kyiv, targeting men who are not in compliance with conscription laws. The raids took place at venues such as the Palace of Sports after a concert and upscale shopping centers and restaurants. This reflects the country’s urgent need for fresh military recruits, with all men aged 25-60 eligible for conscription and those aged 18-60 prohibited from leaving the country.
Similar raids were reported in other Ukrainian cities as well. Ukraine has intensified its mobilization efforts, with a new law requiring eligible individuals to input their information into an online system or face penalties. Meanwhile, on Saturday night, the Russian army conducted a massive air strike on civilian infrastructure in the eastern city of Sumy. The attack caused damage to residential buildings and administrative offices.
In response to the escalating conflict, local authorities in Sumy have been evacuating residents from frontline areas, with nearly 500 children and their families relocated due to the security situation. Additionally, Russian forces have reportedly attacked settlements in Sumy multiple times, leading to the decision to evacuate 45,000 residents from the region.
Further violence was reported in the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, where three civilians, including a child, were injured in a Russian airstrike targeting residential areas and local infrastructure. According to the Ukraine Interior Ministry, a guided aerial missile was used in the attack.
