Church events in the local area offer a variety of activities for community members to enjoy. From blessings of animals and antique appraisals to music concerts and craft fairs, there is something for everyone to participate in.
In Sunderland, the First Congregational Church hosts the Serendipity Shop on Saturdays, offering bargain items for sale. Weekly Sunday church services are also available either in-person or on Zoom.
In Agawam, Sacred Heart Parish in Feeding Hills hosts the annual “Blessing of the Animals” in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. Pets are welcome to receive a blessing, and children can even bring stuffed animals. Feeding Hills Congregational Church also offers antique appraisals on the same day.
In Holyoke, United Congregational Church presents Discover Harmony Day, a day of a cappella workshops and a free public concert. They also host a monthly community meal and offer childcare, along with other programs and events.
Other upcoming events in the area include a Celtic service at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Longmeadow, a Mystery, Comedy and Dinner show in Southwick, and a craft fair and holiday bazaar in Granby. Additionally, St. Catherine of Siena in Springfield is organizing trips to the Boston Bruins game and the Blithewold Mansion in Bristol, RI.
