The New England Patriots faced injury concerns ahead of their Thursday Night Football game against the New York Jets. The team released a hypothetical injury report on Monday, revealing that three starting offensive linemen, as well as several other key players, were dealing with various injuries.
Defensive coordinator Jerod Mayo emphasized the need for the offensive line to improve their pass-blocking performance, noting inconsistencies in their protection during the previous game against the Seahawks. Mayo also highlighted the importance of maintaining conditioning and overcoming adversity on both sides of the ball.
In addition to the offensive line injuries, linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley and linebacker Oshane Ximines were listed as non-participants due to shoulder and knee issues, respectively. Meanwhile, Jabrill Peppers and Marcus Jones were limited with new injuries.
The injury report also included players from the Jets, with linebacker Jermaine Johnson and linebacker C.J. Mosley listed as non-participants. Cornerback Michael Carter II, cornerback D.J. Reed, and offensive lineman Tyron Smith were listed with limited participation, while running back Breece Hall participated fully in practice.
Both teams will continue to monitor and assess player injuries leading up to the game on Thursday night, with potential lineup changes depending on player availability.
