Pro golfer Rory McIlroy recently opened up about his decision to take a break from the sport, citing personal and professional reasons. He explained that he needed to step back from the “business of golf” to focus on what truly matters to him, such as his family and enjoying life. The 35-year-old athlete also addressed his relationship with wife Erica Stoll, revealing that they had resolved their differences and decided to stay together as a family.
In June, McIlroy filed to dismiss his divorce from Stoll, with whom he shares a daughter named Poppy. The couple had been married since 2017 but had faced challenges in their relationship. Despite this, they have now reconciled and are looking forward to a new beginning together. McIlroy expressed his support for their daughter should she choose to follow in his golfing footsteps while also being open to her pursuing a different path.
Following his hiatus, McIlroy is back on the fairway and ready to compete again. He had previously announced his intention to take a break from tournaments to focus on his well-being. With his personal and professional life back on track, the golfer is looking ahead to a positive future both on and off the course.
