Astronaut Matthew Dominick captured stunning footage from the International Space Station, showing reflections of auroras, city lights, and the Milky Way. He stayed up late to capture the array reflections ahead of sunrise, producing amazing time-lapse videos. Dominick explained the process of capturing the reflections, noting the tedious yet essential task of piecing together compelling images from thousands taken every 0.5 seconds. In a separate video, he captured what appears to be a meteor explosion, or bolide, over northern Africa. The clip shows a bright streak and explosion slowed down to one frame per second. Dominick set up the time-lapse to capture the Milky Way Core, but was surprised to find the bolide in the footage. He expressed curiosity about these types of meteors and welcomed input from viewers. The videos showcase Dominick’s passion for capturing the beauty and wonders of space from the unique vantage point of the International Space Station.
