A 13-year-old girl from Worcester who was hit by a car in July has woken up from her coma, according to a GoFundMe page set up to support her family. Ayuen Leet was hit while crossing the street and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver was cited for speeding in the incident.
The teen, who had recently moved to Worcester from South Sudan, attended Sherwood Middle School. Her family is now facing financial strain due to taking time off work to support their daughter and pay for her medical expenses. The GoFundMe page was set up to help the family with these expenses, while donations of meals could also be made through Meal Train.
Despite waking from her coma, Ayuen still has a long road to recovery ahead of her as she prepares to begin rehabilitation. The family expressed gratitude for the love and support they have received from the community during this difficult time. The teenager’s story has touched the hearts of many, and the community has rallied around the family to offer help and support during their time of need.
