Blue Hills girls soccer team won a Mayflower Athletic Conference contest against Bristol Aggie with Kathleen Murphy breaking the school record with 72 career goals. Freshman Elizabeth Green also scored a hat trick in the 7-1 victory. Masconomet defeated Marblehead 3-2 in a Northeastern Conference match with Amanda Schneider scoring two goals. Mystic Valley secured a 2-0 nonleague win over Malden Catholic with Lucia Antonucci scoring two goals. Dover-Sherborn triumphed over Wayland 4-1 with Milla Lee scoring all four goals. In field hockey, Central Catholic dominated Haverhill 7-0 with Kerri Finneran scoring three goals. Medfield edged Medway 2-1 in a Tri-Valley League clash. Norwood defeated Hopkinton 5-1, Dedham blanked Holliston 5-0, and King Philip beat Mansfield 6-1. Guglielmucci led Natick to a 3-0 win over Brookline in the Bay State Conference. In volleyball, Tewksbury won 3-0 against Bedford, South Shore Tech defeated Holbrook 3-0, and Dennis-Yarmouth downed Fairhaven 3-0. In boys soccer, Peabody beat Danvers 2-1, Swampscott defeated Saugus 3-2, and Wayland won 2-0 against Cohasset. In golf, Hanover won 241-251 over Plymouth South, Xaverian defeated St. John’s Prep 216-229, and Norwell won 114-102 over Cohasset. Marblehead triumphed over Salem 15-45 in boys cross country, while Newton North won in girls cross country. The Melrose Athletic Hall of Fame announced its 2024 Class of inductees, including Donald MacInnes, Ken Runge, Tim Reilly, and others, who will be honored on September 21, 2024.
