Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein is facing criticism from New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her campaign’s attacks on Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Ocasio-Cortez accused Stein of being “predatory” and not taking the Green Party seriously. Stein responded by pointing out that Green Party candidates have won over 1400 elections, mostly at the municipal level, while Democrats have tried to keep third-party candidates off ballots. Stein, a former physician and Harvard professor, has run for president three times and has been an environmental health activist. She has also been arrested for participating in an anti-war demonstration. As Stein continues to fight for ballot access in the 2024 election, her impact remains to be seen, but she drew criticism from Democrats in 2016 for potentially drawing votes away from Hillary Clinton.
