Another round of drones and missiles from Russia aimed at Kyiv

Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, was hit with a barrage of missiles in the early hours of Monday, forcing residents to seek shelter in bomb shelters. This attack came after Kyiv launched its largest assault on multiple Russian regions over the weekend.

The air force in Ukraine reported that Kyiv was targeted by drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, resulting in injuries, fires, and damage to homes and infrastructure. One person was injured by falling debris in the Shevchenkivskyi district, and emergency services were deployed to help those affected.

Russia’s military claimed to have intercepted and destroyed 158 Ukrainian drones, including some over Moscow and surrounding areas. Ukraine’s head of the Presidential Office vowed that the enemy would feel the consequences of their actions.

In Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, at least 47 people, including five children, were injured when Russian missiles struck a shopping mall and events complex. Ukrainian forces have previously made incursions into Russia’s Kursk region, leading to ongoing conflicts in the area.

Lastly, an attack by Kyiv on a childcare facility in the Russian city of Belgorod near the border resulted in kindergarten closures and online classes for schools in the region. While these claims could not be independently confirmed, tensions between the two countries continue to escalate.
