The city clerk of Westfield, Kaitlyn Bruce, has announced that ballots for the upcoming Sept. 3 state primary election have been received in her office. Staff will be hand-delivering these ballots to the post office this week for those who have requested to vote by mail.
The state primary election will showcase party candidates vying for positions such as state representative, state senator, governor’s councilor, and both senator and representative in Congress. The winners of each party’s nomination will move on to the general election in November.
Residents with in-town addresses can anticipate receiving their primary election vote-by-mail ballots in the coming days, according to Bruce. Voters have the option to request vote-by-mail ballots via online means, by returning postcards sent out by the secretary of the commonwealth’s Elections Division, or by completing a vote-by-mail application.
This news comes as Westfield prepares for an important election season, with residents encouraged to exercise their right to vote by either casting their ballots in person or by mail. With the ballots now available, residents have the opportunity to research the candidates and make informed decisions on who they believe will best represent their interests in local and state government.
