This deal was finalized on July 16 and the entity managing the purchase shares an address with The Kraft Group at 1 Patriot Place in Foxborough.
Rainbow Furniture has been providing discount furniture to customers in Worcester since 1980. The store’s owner, Robert Bentley, was unavailable for comment as he was on vacation at the time of the sale. The Kraft Group is involved in various non-sports entities including packaging manufacturer Rand-Whitney, International Forest Products LLC, and New-Indy Container Corporation.
UN1F1ED2 Global Packaging Group, another entity owned by The Kraft Group, operates a facility next to Rainbow Furniture at 150 Grove Street. The location of Rainbow Furniture is part of the Washburn and Moen North Works District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and subject to protections under the city’s demolition delay ordinance.
