A 22-year-old woman, Daniela Michell Escobar-Mejia, appeared in court on Monday in connection to the death of an infant found in a New Bedford park in December. Escobar-Mejia, facing a charge of improper disposal of a body, is believed to be the baby’s mother based on DNA testing. The infant boy’s decomposing body was discovered wrapped in a blanket at Fort Taber Park.
