A 74-year-old man from Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Jed Cohen, is facing child pornography charges after allegedly watching explicit videos of young children on a flight from Nashville to Boston. Cohen was seen by another passenger looking at disturbing photos and engaging in sickening text conversations, prompting the crew to alert authorities. He was arraigned in an East Boston court on charges including child pornography possession and paying for sexual conduct with a child under 18.
During the flight, Cohen allegedly viewed photos and videos of girls as young as 3 years old and asked about the cost of engaging in sexual acts with them. When the plane landed, Massachusetts State Police found additional pornographic images on Cohen’s phone, including a child performing a sex act on an adult.
Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden called the allegations “disturbing” and emphasized the lifelong harm caused by sexual exploitation, especially when the victims are children. Cohen was ordered held on $10,000 bail with home confinement and GPS monitoring if released, pending a probable cause hearing on Aug. 16.
Authorities praised the vigilant passenger who alerted the flight crew, leading to swift action by law enforcement. The case highlights the importance of reporting suspicious behavior concerning child exploitation to prevent further harm.
