A 31-year-old man, Nester Lujuan Flores of Arlington, is in custody after a tragic incident in which he allegedly struck a pedestrian and subsequently drove nearly 40 miles to White Settlement, Texas. The driver was found at a Jack in the Box restaurant in White Settlement with a deceased body in the passenger seat of his car. Police believe the pedestrian was hit and went through the car’s windshield, coming to rest in the passenger seat. Flores claimed he thought he had hit an animal and continued on his journey without reporting the incident to 911. The impact was so severe that there was significant trauma to the body, including missing body parts.
Flores was intoxicated and is now facing charges of intoxication, manslaughter, and possibly failure to stop and render aid. It was also revealed that he had previously been arrested for DWI in 2020 and convicted in 2021. White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook described the level of impairment as significant and unprecedented in his 28 years of experience.
