Williamson County Tax Assessor employee Deanna Vaters and her husband have taken gingerbread house decorating to a new level by creating a replica of the Bastrop Buc-ee’s with cutouts of her coworkers. Vaters, who has worked for the office for six years, came up with the idea and, along with her husband, visited the Buc-ee’s in Bastrop to gather inspiration and details. They then set to work using gingerbread, icing, and candy to recreate the iconic gas station and convenience store, including signage, model cars, and photo cutouts of coworkers going about their daily tasks. Vaters shared that the coworkers look forward to seeing themselves in the gingerbread display each year.
The gingerbread Buc-ee’s is now on display at the tax office location in Georgetown, located at 904 S. Main St. Vaters expressed that she and her husband love incorporating Christmas into their work environment and enjoy making others happy through their creations. She also explained that they have been sharing their gingerbread creations with coworkers for years and have always received a positive and appreciative response. The couple’s attention to detail and dedication to spreading holiday cheer has clearly paid off, as their gingerbread masterpiece has attracted attention and admiration.
Vaters’s creativity and festive spirit have been celebrated by the Williamson County community, with the county’s official Twitter account sharing photos of the gingerbread display and commending Vaters for her exceptional work. The impressive creation not only showcases Vaters’s talent but also demonstrates the positive and warm atmosphere within the tax office. The Vaters’ commitment to creating a joyful and delightful work environment is inspiring and reflects the true spirit of the holiday season.
