Some young voters at N.H. rally are receptive to Trump’s economic message

They cited concerns about his handling of the economy and foreign policy. Trump capitalized on this discontent in his speech focused on his economic agenda. Polls show Biden losing momentum among young voters, with many now leaning towards supporting Trump. Economic concerns, such as inflation and the cost of living, have been highlighted as major reasons for their dissatisfaction with the current administration. Even student protesters at the event expressed mixed feelings about supporting Biden, noting that although they are Democrats, they do not find him progressive enough. They are still deciding how to vote in the upcoming primary. Some Democratic voters said they would reluctantly support Biden in a general election due to fears for democracy, despite their reservations about him. Additionally, some attendees questioned the effectiveness of the current government system, echoing Trump’s comments about the U.S. not being a democracy due to alleged power abuses and distrust in government agencies. Trump’s legal issues, including indictments related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, were also mentioned as contributing to the distrust.
